The Halloween Story

A Mother's Love

One Halloween night, a couple was travelling by car through one of the USA’s forest when, in the far distance, they saw a woman in the middle of the road, waving frantically.
Mary told her husband, James to keep on driving because it might be too dangerous, but the husband decided to pass by slowly in case the person was in genuine trouble.
As they drove closer, they noticed that the woman was bleeding from cuts and bruises on her face as well as on her arms. Mary and James then decide to stop and see if they could be of any assistance.

The cut and bruised woman was begging for help telling them that she had already been in a car accident and that her husband and son, a new born baby, were still inside the car which was in a deep ditch. She told them that the husband was already dead but that her baby was still alive.
James decided to walk to the crash and try to rescue the baby and he asked the hurt woman to stay with Mary inside their car.  When James arrived at the crash he noticed two people in the front seats of the car but he didn't pay any attention to them and quickly grabbed the live baby and got up to take it to the mother.
He straightened up carrying the baby and couldn't see the mother anywhere so he asked his wife where she had gone. Mary told him that the woman followed him back to the crashed car.
When James returned to the crash to look for her, he noticed that clearly the couple in the front seats were dead, one of whom was unmistakably the woman who had flagged them down.

The work - life balance

How to find a work-life balance for the perfect English teacher?

I suppose that to find a work-life balance for the perfect English teacher is a rather difficult thing. Its difficulty lies in the fact that to be actually the perfect teacher of an every subject takes too much time leaving sometimes not enough for personal life.
Consequently, the main difficulty lies in the proper distribution of time. Only having distinctly distributed time, you will find enough time both for the perfect work and career and for personal life. You shouldn’t try to mix them up, having all the time clearly divided between them.
Of course, all the people should work, but they should work to have satisfaction and enough money for life, so, they should work to live. However, to live in order to work – is entirely another thing… I reject some people’s assertion that the people’s life exactly intended for work! No objections, it is important, but the work should not be the only thing in the people’s life. We live only once – and it is too silly to spend the life for work only having a lot of beautiful things to try and to do. I mean a creation of family, for example. I consider it to be much more important than work in our life. Still, it is only my opinion.
Speaking about a work-life balance for the perfect English teacher, I should say that the matter is almost the same. It is obvious, you should be the perfect teacher if you have decided to be a teacher, but even in this case you shouldn’t spend all your time only for perfection of your knowledge. Thus, you are to distribute your time properly!
In conclusion I should emphasize that to find a work-life balance is really the important thing for the perfect English teacher, but often it is difficult one too.

Interview

Interview with Kuligina Dar'ya

Who are you?

Hi! My full name is Kuligina Dar’ya. I’m a student in the Institute of foreign languages. I’m studying English and German. I’m an ordinary student without extra possibilities, but with brains in my head) I’ve been learning English since I was four, and now I’m 21. Still I can’t say that I’m perfect in it. For my mind only native speakers know English perfect, as for example I know Russian. I’m a native speaker of this language, so it is logical to think that my knowledge of it is close to perfect))) As it was said in one clever book, not a man can know perfectly more than one language. But at least I do my best to improve my knowledge of the English language.

How did you learn English?

I’ve been learning English since I was four. My studying began in the kindergarten. I was a rather promising child, so parents decided that I should learn it deeper. Since that time, I’ve learnt it at school and had private lessons. My school wasn’t specialized at English, it was an ordinary school. But I was happy to have there a teacher who taught me privately. Still I’m grateful, that she gave me a ticket in my life. As I was rather capable it was not too hard for me to learn English. I have good memory for words, so at first I just learnt them and tried to use them in my everyday life. My mother helped me a lot. She spoke to me on different themes. We were communicating with simple sentences about everything we saw. In such way I improved my vocabulary and speaking. I enjoyed writing stories in English. It was not a problem for me. At first I had to look almost each word to express what I wanted. But later I felt, that I almost needn’t vocabulary. Now I’m improving my English in institute. I feel that I need to speak more, especially to native speakers. That’s why I’m working now in wedding agency. There are a lot of native speakers, and I have to communicate with them all time and I should to communicate in correct way and very fast. I was really glad when understood that I could do it more or less easily.

What has English given you?

Pity, but I don’t have exact answer. I’m too young, and I’m studying yet. But English is an international language and I think that in future I will find worthy usage to my knowledge. Even now I see a plenty of advantages. I can have friends from different countries, and I shouldn’t spend time and money on translators, I can read in English everything I want, or everything I need. At least in future I can earn money on those people who don’t know English!
Learn English and be happy!
